Physical Geology Lab

— filed under:

This lab book is designed for use in introductory geology courses. It follows a traditional arrangement, focusing on mineral and rock specimen study, an introduction to geologic time and reasoning, structural geology, and topographic maps and landforms. Physical Geology treats Earth materials and the physical nature of the Earth, inside and out, serving as preparation for the second introductory geology course, Historical Geology, which, of course, is generally event-based, and emphasizes organic evolution and geological mapping in lab. Work on these labs started in Fall 2006 and continues here and there.
